A classic, inspired by the Nepalese Kukri, this style machete became well know though the Gurkha regiments in the 19th century. The forward curved blade makes it possible to use the machete like an ax without losing the benefits of a long blade. The cutting edge is honed differently: near the handle it is razor sharp for cutting and the tip of the blade is flat thus suitable for chopping through wood and undergrowth.
