The Shemag or Shemagh (spelling differs depending on the language) is a practical headscarf and scarf and protects against dust, sand, sun, wind and cold. Also ideal for covering or camouflaging equipment. The Shemag originally comes from the Arab world (Palestinian cloth) and was brought to Europe by British soldiers after the Second World War.
